The new WebAtlas from the federal and state governments is online

The new WebAtlasDE, the basemap.de web grid, is the first product in the product group basemap.de online since April 1st, 2022.

The basemap.de web grid was developed jointly by the federal and state governments as part of the Smart Mapping project and replaces WebAtlasDE. The basemap.de web grid is derived from the basemap.de web vector with the characteristics color and gray. Based on official geospatial data, the web map provides an attractive, Germany-wide, uniform map display in zoom levels from individual buildings to an overview of Germany. Their central production and efficient implementation based on international standards as well as their modern cartographic design support a wide range of application areas.

The basemap.de web grid is updated every six months. A quarterly update is planned in the future. The first update will be available in August 2022.

The web map in vector format, the basemap.de Web Vector, will go online in August 2022. All the advantages of Vector Tile technology are available here, such as interactivity and individual customization options for the user.
