basemap.de Web Vector is online: The chameleon among map services

The vector-based web map has been online since August 1st, 2022: basemap.de web vector. As with the other basemap.de services, these are official, current and free-to-use online maps of Germany. The strengths of the vector-based web map lie in its flexibility and high-resolution display.

flexibility means: The map display is calculated live. Three standard map styles are offered. Other map displays or thematic maps can be created by users themselves using online editors. This means that this service is open to almost every taste and use. But the viewing perspective is also flexible: whether bird's eye view or oblique views, north orientation or along movement paths. The card contents always adapt.

High-resolution display means: No matter what resolution your device has. The map is always sharp. And not just for fixed zoom levels, but also freely scalable. Even the magnification function in the browser can be used without any loss of quality, which is helpful for groups of people when viewing from a greater distance, for example.

The underlying geodata is updated monthly. If necessary, the card design or the underlying data model can also be further developed.

On the basemap.de viewer You can view the maps, but also use them on your mobile, print them out, adapt them and share them with specific sections.

Users of the beta service, which has existed since 2020, are asked to switch to the new URLs by September 30, 2022.
